Waste management and landfill plan for the region Chivor in Colombia.

Task:

Uncontrolled landfilling of the municipal landfills involves adverse effects for the environment and the local population.

Solution:

Closure and stabilisation of uncontrolled landfills; Construction of two transfer centres with mechanical-biological waste treatment and of a central landfill to deposit the treated waste.

Client:

Colombian State Ministry for Environmental Affairs and former Bavarian State Ministry for Regional Development and Environmental Affairs (StMLU).
